Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

a. Information you give us:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form).
• Content you create in the Service: this may include your reflections, journals, "Brain Dump" entries, your Record (contacts, documents, accounts, and key dates you choose to store), your Life Wheel and Operations Wheel responses and scores, Seasons, goals, tasks, reminders, and other entries. We refer to this as "Your Content." Your Content may include personal and sensitive details about your life.
• Payment information: if you purchase a subscription or paid item, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing metadata (such as status, plan, and the last four digits) from Stripe.
• Communications: information you provide when you contact support or respond to us.
• b. Information collected automatically — usage and device data: log data, device and browser type, and how you interact with features (for example, that a feature was opened or a wheel was completed). Where we use analytics, we collect behavioral events as described in Section 7.
• c. We do NOT store passwords to your third-party accounts, and we instruct you never to store passwords in the Record.

2. How we use information

We use information to: provide and operate the Service; save and display Your Content back to you; process payments and manage your subscription; send transactional messages (confirmations, reminders, security and account notices); provide support; maintain security and prevent abuse; understand and improve the Service through aggregate analytics; and comply with legal obligations. With your separate opt-in consent, we may send occasional marketing updates, which you can withdraw at any time.

3. Our commitments about Your Content

• We do not sell Your Content or your personal information.
• We do not use the private contents of your journals, Record, Brain Dump, or individual reflections for advertising.
• Our staff do not access the private contents of your account except: (i) when you explicitly grant access (for example, turning on time-limited Support Access, or sharing specific items with an assigned practitioner); (ii) where strictly necessary to operate, secure, or debug the Service, under confidentiality and access controls; or (iii) where required by law. Any such access is logged.
• Analytics about wheel or index scores are used only in anonymized, aggregate form and are not tied to your identity in reporting.

4. How we share information

We share information only as follows:

• Service providers (processors) who help us run the Service under contract — for example: payment processing (Stripe), hosting and database infrastructure, transactional email delivery, and error-monitoring and analytics providers. They may process information only on our instructions.
• At your direction: when you choose to share specific data with another person through the Service (for example, sharing scores or a plan with an assigned practitioner, or handing off an item to a family member), we share what you selected, with whom you selected, until you revoke it.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• We do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable law.

5. Data retention

We keep your account information and Your Content for as long as your account is active, and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify Your Content within a reasonable period, except limited records we must retain for legal, tax, accounting, or security reasons (for example, transaction records). Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export (portability), or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

• Export your data from Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Delete your account from Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Manage marketing consent in Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
• To exercise other rights, contact us at contact@thewelldesignedlifeco.com. We will respond as required by applicable law (including the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA where they apply). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA/UK, our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you, your consent (where requested), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function (such as authentication and security). Where we use non-essential analytics, we request your consent where required and you can choose "essential only." We do not use your private Content for advertising.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and logging of privileged access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age required in your jurisdiction) to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate from the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the new version with an updated effective date and, for material changes, ask you to review and accept it. Your continued use after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
